Alphatec Spine

Since our founding in 1990, we have been working hard to be the best at delivering advancements in spinal fusion technologies. We operate in a culture of teamwork that is customer-focused and accountable for results to grow our global market share. We continue to build a world-class organization through;
  • Leadership in product innovation
  • Global commercial strategy
  • Operational excellence and
  • Performance culture driven by our Company’s values: Integrity, Customers, Teamwork, Accountability, Results and Community.

Alphatec Spine designs, develops, manufactures  and markets a full line of spinal implants and surgical instruments. Since our company's founding in 1990, we have developed a full-line of innovative products for spine surgeons. During that time, our focus has been on working to improve the quality of life of patients with spine disorders and to continue to innovate new products that advance the science of spinal surgery. Moving forward, we will continue this core mission. However, in analyzing our business and our product pipeline, we will also stake a leadership position in a segment of the spine market that has been underserved - the aging spine. Aging spine patients (65 years and older) have a desire to alleviate the pain and discomfort caused by disorders such as osteoporosis (which results in 700,000 annual vertebral compression fractures), adult scoliosis (which is prevalent in 60 percent of this age group) and spondylolisthesis (which afflicts 12 percent of men and 30 percent of women in the aging population). According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, one in two women and one in four men over age 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis. It is estimated that 10 million Americans currently suffer from osteoporosis and 34 million more are at risk of developing it. We have engaged several of the top thought leaders in spine and have identified the product attributes necessary to target the aging spine. Specifically, these products must:
  • Perform in osteOpenic or osteoporotic bone
  • Support the use of multiple biomaterials
  • Be minimally invasive compatible
